Splyt enables Uber and IT Taxi integration
Splyt, the superapp enabler, has enabled the integration of Italy’s largest taxi consortium into the world’s leading transportation superapp.
London and Rome, 24 May 2o22. Splyt, the superapp enabler, has enabled the integration of Italy’s largest taxi consortium into the world’s leading transportation superapp, thereby modernising and changing the way citizens and travellers move around Italian cities.
From June 2022, users of the Uber app will have easy and immediate access to thousands of taxis in the IT Taxi consortium. With the addition of taxis as a transport option, users will experience the full functionality and technology of the Uber platform when booking a ride.
Over 12,000 taxis that are part of the IT Taxi consortium will be integrated into the Uber app through a technical integration managed by Splyt. Through this partnership, taxi drivers will increase the number of trips, reduce idle times, and have additional income opportunities thanks to Uber's significant user base, both domestic and foreign. In 2021, the Uber app in Italy was opened about 6.7 million times by users to request a ride.
This agreement was facilitated by Splyt, who has collaborated with IT Taxi for over four years. It allows Uber to extend its presence from the current 8, to over 20 cities in Italy. After Alipay, Booking.com, Grab and others, Uber marks yet another superapp that Splyt has uniquely enabled with its world-leading network of on-demand services.
